Ladies Day Sold Out For First Time In History
Perth Racecourse has announced that Ladies Day on Thursday 16 May, always a huge popular date in the venue’s 15-fixture calendar, has completely sold out in advance for the first time.
Hot on the heels of a three-day Perth Festival which saw Gordon Elliott reach £1m in course prize money and Richard Johnson net his 200th season winner, the racecourse sold its final Ladies Day tickets early on Saturday.
More than 7,500 racegoers will pack Perth next month for an afternoon full of racing and entertainment, with a seven-race card complemented by a host of fashion competitions before Greg James of BBC Radio 1 entertains on stage after racing.
Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse Chief Executive, said: “It is fantastic that Ladies Day continues to prove such a hot ticket for racegoers and I would like to thank everyone for supporting this event – it’s a real success story for Perth.
“I’m very proud of my team for creating such a strong start to the season with a sell-out Ladies Day hot on the heels of delivering a brilliant Festival of quality racing last week. It was extremely rewarding to have so many good horses competing here at Perth, it really was a feast for the National Hunt racing fan. Gordon Elliot and Richard Johnson’s exploits are well known and it is very special for Perth that they rarely miss a meeting – we shall never take them for granted!”
“It’s been a superb start to the season what with Heritage Portfolio bringing a fresh energy to our retail outlets which all went down a storm. It bodes well for our next double header – Hoteliers Race evening on Wednesday 15 May before our sold-out Ladies Day on Thursday 16 May.”
Perth’s Ladies Day will again support Breast Cancer Now, with racegoers last year raising more than £6,000 for the charity in one single day.
Racegoers dressed in their finest attire can scoop a fabulous prize for their efforts with Tay FM’s Stuart Webster and Claire Kinnaird hosting the main stage in the Grandstand area throughout the day, with three great rewards for those who have gone all out to look the part:
- The Eva Lucia Grand Lady - £1,000 vouchers + £1,000 CASH
- Best Headwear sponsored by Elegance of Perth - £500 voucher
- Best Dressed Male sponsored by Slater Menswear - £1,000 voucher
A limited number of under 18/carer tickets will be available on the gates from 11.30am on Thurs 16 May on a first come, first served basis. Photographic ID MUST be shown.
We are not liable for any fraudulent tickets purchased second hand.
