Susan Corbett has her eye on more Perth success with Nathan Moscrop-ridden Ebselysees in the Murrayshall Golf Handicap Hurdle over 3m 2f.
On just her second start for the Northumberland trainer, the mare made a lot of the running to land the final race on the opening day of last month’s Perth Festival.
“She’s gone up 5lbs for that win and we’re also sending her over a little bit further this time,” Corbett said. “It was great that she is owned by our Northern Racing Syndicate, and gave our amateur Rebekah Duffy her first winner under an expert ride, so we were very proud of both of them.”
In a wide-open contest, Ebselysees faces stiff opposition from plenty of rivals not least fellow course scorers Buy Some Time (Mike Smith), Lady In The Park (Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore), Suspected (Nick Alexander) and Dalileo (Lisa Harrison).
Another competitive event on a seven-race card is the Murrayshall Country Estate Handicap Chase.
Sean Bowen, recently crowned champion jockey for the second successive season, rides top-weight Next Twist for Olly Murphy and the red-hot partnership team up four times during the afternoon.
He recorded an amazing 241 winners during the 2025-26 campaign but the 27 he registered at Perth were the highest he notched on any British track.
On the middle-day of the Perth Festival he dead-heated in a race with brother James and siblings go head-to-head on three occasions starting off in the opening Murrayshall Country Estate Mares’ Maiden Hurdle.
They both ride horses trained by Olly Murphy with Sean aboard Kaydence and James on Kayla’s Friend.
