It’s one of the highlights of the racing season – The Gold Cup!

The prestigious annual race is worth £40,000 to the winner on a racecard worth nearly £100,000 in total. It’s an opportunity to watch first-class national hunt racing from either the packed Grandstand area or the picnic hotspot of the Centre Course!

The first weekend meeting of the year and is one of the busiest and most popular racedays on the calendar. With the summer underway, it’s sunglasses and hats galore around the Grandstand area with thousands flocking to watch some of the highest rated horses in the country compete for the main prize.

Please note, crossing between enclosures is not permitted.

Get in early as the crowds will flock to see the highlight of the Perth racing calendar – the grandstands are always filled with excited fans cheering their horses over the line.

Dress for the occasion – it’s the most prestigious race of the year, so put on your best gear!

If you get hungry, try some fresh, locally sourced haddock and chips from Paddock & Chips next to The Barn.

It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere with the best of UK & Irish racing showcasing their talent right here at Perth! Plus with live music in The Barn after racing.

It’s an ideal day to bring a picnic to the Centre Course and enjoy an afternoon of racing. There will be a small range of inflatables available for the kids, so it’s a day the whole family can enjoy!

The sports bar will be open throughout the afternoon and there will be a range of drinks on offer plus burger options from the delicious Well Hung & Tender.

Casual clothes are fine in the Centre Course, but make sure you dress sensibly for the weather. Remember hats and sun cream if it’s a hot, sunny day!

Top class national hunt racing unfolding in front of one of our biggest crowds - that's what Perth Gold Cup Day is all about!

On a card worth neraly £100,000, the feature race is worth £40,000 alone and is normally contested by quality chasers - 2016 runner-up Menorah (rated 165) was the classiest horse to grace Perth for two decades while last year's hero Henllan Harri was trained in Wales by Perth 'specialist' Peter Bowen. Just how many big prizes did the Bowen’s collect last season?!
