The Stone of Destiny Raceday is set to further knit together the association with the surrounding land and history of the Racecourse. The Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, is a piece of sandstone associated with the coronation ceremonies of medieval monarchs of Scotland. And this year, the stone has returned to its rightful place, well near enough. Hosted in the Perth Museum, the Stone of Destiny is free to visit so why not make a weekend of it, visit the stone and then take in a day's racing to celebrate its history!

Day of Destiny Trail

We have teamed up with Perth Museum and Scone Palace to bring you a Day of Destiny Trail! Visit the three venues and complete the activity booklet. Successful trail hunters will be rewarded!

1. Perth Museum: Located in the City Centre, Perth Museum is filled with local and national treasures – it is free to enter but remember to book a free slot if you want to see the Stone. Don’t forget to check out the unicorn exhibition, where children under 10 go free!

2. Scone Palace: Next up, visit the accessible Scone Palace, where you can discover the original home of the Stone. Explore the palace maze and grounds to complete section two of the Destiny Trail. Under-16s go free to the Palace Gardens this summer, adults are £12 each!

3. Perth Racecourse: Last but not least, a short hop to the Racecourse for the long-awaited Stone of Destiny Raceday. Under-18s go free and adult tickets are available online from £25. From pony to thoroughbreds, there are races for all to cheer on. The race not to miss is the feature race taking place at 6.35pm, The Scone Estates Stone of Destiny Handicap Hurdle!

Everyone under 18 that completes the trail and hands in the booklet to the Racecourse Office on Saturday 17th August before 6.45pm will win a block of "Stone of Destiny" tablet! You will also be entered into a prize draw to win a Family Day Trip to a Raceday of your choice in 2025. Booklets can be found at the Perth Museum.

Highlights of the Raceday:

Quality Racing, Pony and Thoroughbred: Witness top-class horse racing featuring competitive fields and adrenaline-pumping finishes. From exhilarating steeple chase to challenging hurdles, the Stone of Destiny Raceday promises an action-packed lineup of races that will keep you entertained! Plus as a special addition to the racing calendar, there will be a Pony Race taking place on course at 15:00 - so make sure you get in early to see the competitive races!
NEW Grazing on the Green Package: Elevate your raceday experience with the brand new ticket package, offering exclusive access to covered seating under the Picnic Enclosure stretch tent, refreshments, and unparalleled views of the races and live music performance.
Live Music by Shaka Loves You: After the last race concludes, the party continues with a live performance by the dynamic duo, Shaka Loves You! Renowned for their funky beats and infectious energy, Shaka Loves You will have you dancing the night away with their blend of disco, funk, and hip-hop in The Barn from 19:45 for one hour.

Enclosures:

There are two enclosures open this raceday, the Picnic Enclosure and the Grandstand Enclosure.

The Picnic Enclosure is our family area where picnics are encouraged! You are permitted to bring in your own food & drinks (no alcohol or glass) into this Enclosure, along with picnic furniture. There will be a range of inflatables available to enjoy all raceday in this area from bouncy castle, fun run to giant slide! The racing action is still on the track so be sure to pick up a Racecard at The Stables Bar to pick your winners for the day!

The Grandstand Enclosure is where the racing action starts! From access to all the public bars and Cafe 1613 plus other eateries you won't go hungry! Plus, access to the live music in The Barn after racing from Shaka Loves You!

Tickets for the Stone of Destiny Raceday, including access to the live music performance by Shaka Loves You, can be purchased online in advance only. VIP hospitality packages are also available for those seeking an elevated experience, but be quick!
