Willie Mullins and Paul Townend dominated the opening day of the Perth festival when they teamed up to land the two Listed races with Kiss Will and Fun Fun Fun.
Kiss Will took the £40,000 British EBF Gold Castle “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle half an hour before Fun Fun Fun made all in the Quilter Cheviot Fair Maid Of Perth Mares’ Chase.
Townend said: “It’s a brilliant place, it’s just a pity we have to do a bit of work when we come here! It’s a great atmosphere, brilliant weather and they’ve done an incredible job with the ground.
“I’d won a maiden hurdle on Kiss Will and he travelled so well over an unknown trip for him. I’d hope he is a horse with a big future.
“Fun Fun Fun made harder work of her win than I’d hoped as she bounced out and won easier at Limerick in a Grade 3 the time before. Mind you there was plenty of in the locker when I needed it.”
